The best way to hike in the Valley of Wonders from Ventimiglia is to rent a vehicle.

From the valley of wonders, you can take a walk to Refuge des Merveilles and spend the night there and on the following day, you can go to the most ‘sacred’ area of the Vallée des Merveilles for more rock engravings.
The Fontanalba
From Casterino, you will have to walk for at least two hours to reach Lac Vert and a further two hours to the famous “ciappe” of Fontanalba. Along the route you can admire unspoilt nature. Your gaze will wander from the surrounding peaks to the clear waters of the numerous small lakes to the oxen at the yoke with plough engraved on a stone slab.
